How do I get access? I can't sign in.​

Stagemates is invite-only right now. Sign-in codes are only sent to invited email addresses — the way in is a band invite from an existing user.

What happens when I hit the 15-song limit on the free plan?​

Nothing is deleted — ever. New songs need room (or an upgrade), and if you're over a limit after a downgrade, the extra content is locked read-only until you're back within limits. See Plans and limits.

Is my music private?​

Yes — private by default. Your songs and recordings are visible only to you and, for band content, your bandmates. Your audio is never used to train AI models.

Does my whole band need a paid plan?​

No. Bands work on every plan, including Free. One member's plan governs their own library capacity and AI allowance; collaborating in a shared band doesn't require anyone else to pay.

What is the AI actually doing?​

Only what you ask it to: on demand it can detect a recording's key and tempo, map its sections, transcribe lyrics, and draft a chord chart — all as editable starting points, marked with an AI badge. See Audio analysis.

Can I use charts I already have as PDFs or photos?​

Yes, two ways: Upload keeps the document exactly as-is (viewable, not editable), or AI · File converts it into an editable, transposable chart. See Creating charts.

Why did my chart come back in a different key than I transposed to?​

Transposition is a view setting, remembered per chart per device — the saved chart never changes. If you switch devices, set the transpose again there. See Performing a chart.

What devices does Stagemates work on?​

Any modern browser — phone, tablet, or laptop. There's also an iOS app.

What audio formats can I upload?​

mp3, wav, m4a, aac, ogg, flac, aiff, and wma, up to 200 MB per file. See Uploading audio.

Ask a band leader to resend the invite — resending creates a fresh link and expiry.
