Audio analysis
Every uploaded recording has an AI Analysis panel that can extract musical information from the audio itself. Each analysis is something you run on demand — nothing is analyzed without you asking.
What it can generate
- Tempo & Key — detects the BPM and musical key of the recording. Results appear on the file, and you can promote them to the song with Copy key & BPM to song.
- Sections — maps the song's structure (intro, verses, choruses…) onto the waveform as named, colored sections.
- Lyrics — transcribes the vocal and fills the song's Lyrics field.
- Chord chart — drafts an editable chord chart straight from the recording.
Running an analysis
- Open the file's AI Analysis panel on the song page.
- Choose Generate on the artifact you want. Analysis runs in the background — results appear in place when it finishes.
- Regenerate re-runs an analysis; it asks for confirmation first since it replaces the previous result.
Your own edits are protected: re-running section detection replaces only AI-created sections, never ones you've renamed or adjusted, and generated charts arrive as new charts rather than overwriting anything.
Each run counts toward your monthly audio analyses allowance: 25 on Free, 200 on Pro, unlimited on Band. Failed runs don't count. Usage meters and reset dates are in Settings. See Plans and limits.
A note on quality
AI results are a starting point, not gospel — generated charts carry an AI badge as a reminder to review them. Detected keys, sections, and chords are usually close, and everything is editable.
Your audio is never used to train AI models.
